The Yaxley Renewable Energy Hub is centred on a 450 MW grid connection in Mid Suffolk and is being developed with a development partner. The project will bring together large-scale solar generation, energy storage and local energy demand within one coordinated infrastructure model.
The hub will connect up to 700 MW of solar generation, targeted for 2030, supported by energy storage to help balance renewable power and provide reliable clean electricity when it is needed. A key part of the project is the potential to support a data centre powered by locally connected renewable energy.
With demand for clean power, storage and digital infrastructure continuing to grow across Suffolk and East Anglia, the project provides a practical model for how renewable energy infrastructure can support business growth, energy resilience, local jobs and long-term community benefit.
