The Oxford Renewable Energy Hub is centred on an 800 MW grid connection, with the potential to connect directly to PVDP’s 800 MW solar farm. The project could also include 200 MW of long-duration energy storage, supporting reliable, locally generated clean power.
The hub is designed to support a range of local energy needs, including a potential data centre, heat networks for new homes, two local schools and a new indoor swimming pool. It could also support HGV and EV charging, alongside improved park-and-ride links into Oxford.
With demand for resilient clean power continuing to grow across Oxfordshire, the project provides a practical model for how renewable energy infrastructure can support housing, education, transport and local economic growth.
